Well i thought it was time i got myself in gear and get designing another project,  Ive not been well for the last god knows how many weeks and im still not in a good way but ive doped myself up on painkillers and started doing my next design,

This next one is a crochet pattern and it's just a quick one but very handy for the summer and also the winter...

Im hoping it will be ready by monday if not before but im working as hard as i can to make sure its right and even those of you with only very basic crochet skills will be able to do it so its easy for all.

Raspberry ripple bag Free pattern

Yippee!!! The pattern is finally ready, Id like to appologise for taking so long, life has'nt been going as inspected but ive finally managed to get it sorted and here it is....Please e-mail me if you have any problems at all as this is my first pattern i cannot guarantee that it will be perfect but i do hope that you find it easy to follow and enjoy making up the bag.  I will be adding another version of the bag that with have knitted handle's instead.

Materials- 7mm needles, Bamboo handle's i used measure 12cm wide/ 12 1/2 cm high, 100g Scarf yarn of your choice i:e Rico can can, Knitting fever flounce, Katia Ondas etc. Please remember that all these scarf yarn's are different width's when opened...the yarn i used measure's 2.1/2" (6cm) when opened up....for yarns that are not as wide as this you'll need to knit into it across the secong from top row of hole's while if its the same or simmilar to the one ive used you need to knit into the hole's 1/4 from the top so the ruffle's sit right. Again any problems and im happy to help.

Abbreviations- K-Knit, R-Ruffle's, stitch, St(s)-Stitche(s)

Tension- The tension varies as you can make the bag to suit the size you need but on this pattern the first 6 rows measure 6" (15cm) wide 1.1/2" (4cm) high.

NOTE- The bag is created by knitting with the yarn using 2 different tecniques, 1st = the rows are worked by holding the yarn as you would hold any normal chunky yarn, 2nd =  the ruffles are created by opening up the yarn to reveal the mesh and then knitting into the hole's of the mesh. (see picture's below) There's also video's to the side with video's to show you how to knit the ruffle's for those who dont already know...Hope this is helpful.

2nd Technique
1st Tecnique

The bag is worked as one piece starting and ending with the 6 rows of using technique 1.

Using 7 mm needles cast on 15 St(s)

Row's 1-6 - (WS)..Working with the yarn held as technique 1, work in for the 6 rows.

Row's 7-10- Working with the yarn as tecnique 2, Work the next 4 rows as the R. 9 Try to keep your ruffle sts taught but not to tight.

Row's 11-12- Working with yarn as technique 1, work 2 row's in

Row's 13-24- Repeat the last 6 row's twice more,   This complete's the front of the bag and the last 2 row's form part of the base along with the next 2 row's of the back.

Row's 25-26-  Repeat row's 11-12

Row's 27-30- Repeat row's 7-10

Row's 31-42- Repeat the last 6 row's twice more

Row's 43-48- Repeat row's 1-6 ( This now complete's the bag panel)

Cast off.

Making up With the bag right side's back to back using a dk yarn of same or similar colour sew up the side seams of the bag, turn right side out and attach chosen handle's.

Complete....As the ruffle's are on both side's then you shouldnt need to line the bag but it's entirely you'r preference.

My first ever design Raspberry ripple bag adding finishing touches

Well id like to appologise for the change of website but my previous site wasnt suitable for my needs so hence the change...Anyway i would like to also THANK you all for you'r lovely encouraging comments and all of your support and interest in my bag and im sorry i've taken so long to make it available but i promise ive been working very hard along with having both of my children very poorly with chicken pox and tonsilitious(soory if its not spelt right) also both me and my hubby have been poorly with flu and ive had my usual problems with my leg dislocating but got an MRI thursday so hoping ill get some good news well fingers crossed....anyway i dont want to bore you with all of the details.

Im just now adding the finishing touche's like measurements and final picture's that ill be adding to the pattern also making sure ive got the yarns correct as any of the scarf ribbon mesh yarns can be used but as their width's are all different they need to be knitted slightly different such as smaller ones need to be knitted right into the top rown of holes to get a similar affect but it wont have as much length to the ruffle as the yarns like Rico Can Can, Knitting Fever's Flounce, Grundi Flemenco and also the cheeper versions like the qd yarn and the Lidl yarn those of which are knitted into the hole's 1/4 from the top so it create's a lovely ruffle affect.

I would like to also add though that if anyone has any problems at all with my pattern to contact me via e-mail and ill help you out, also if i do have any errors in my pattern at all i do appologise in advance its my very first pattern that im publishing and its all very exciting and scary at the same time as i never expected the reaction i recieved and im still gobsmacked by it.
Im not having a very good few days pain wise so im going to start editing the pictures ive got now and then they'll be done and i can get the rest of the things finished off tomorrow afternoon....Thanks kindly for all your patience with me i do appreciate it.
I hope you all enjoy the pattern very much and id love to hear from you all who've made it i'd also love to see you'r photo's then i'll add them to a slide show so others can see them too.

    Thanks to you all
    Thanks for your support

    Welcome to my new blog

Firstly i'd like to welcome you all to my new blog...I was using another site before but it was very suitable for what i needed so i decided to set up a blog on here and im already finding it so much better with alot more features that are very easy to use esp for someone like me who's not that good at all this but im sure ill get there one day.

Well i'll start by telling you a little bit about myself and what im going to be blogging about....My name is Marie, im married to a very special man who's also my full time carer(long story) will explain in another post, but to put it short im serverly physically disabled and spend everyday stuck on my bed unless i have to goto hospital appointments and im having a rare good day, in other words numb from my pain relief.... i also have two beautiful kids Jade nicole who's 7 this year and James who's 4 xmas eve, We live in Lincolnshire UK, i have a very close family who support me in ever way and encourage me in my new hobbie's which is what my blog is going to be about.

It all started in january 2010 when i saw an ad on tv for a weekly mag called The Art Of Crochet, (ill explain what its about in another post) at this point in my life i was sinking deeper and deeper into the dreaded Depression, and so i told myself and my family who had first suggested it that i get a hobby.  After seeing the ad i decided id give it a try...To be honest with you id only heard of crocheted doileys and lace before and was totally suprised by what i read and saw it to me was just like knitting as in you can crochet almost anything.

Anyway i got started with my hook and yarn it did take me a few days to manage to get the correct tension but after 1 week i was hooked (no pun intended).  I then decided i would search the world of crochet online and oh my i was gobsmacked at the amount of different patterns, stitche's everything i soon fell in love with my new hobby and couldnt wait to get my yarn collection going the second week in my hubby bought me a full set of hooks and a few different weight yarns so i could get started.

Then he sat amazed as the hats, scarves and bags came flowing also i started making cushion covers as well as the squares in each issue.

By June 2010 id collected a few knitting magazines even though they didnt all have crochet patterns in i loved reading about all the yarns and peoples stories and seeing beautiful patterns and as i couldnt knit to save my life i really wanted to try and so after lots of encouragement from family and friends i started learning to knit as i wanted to use both knitting and crochet together and after 2 weeks of battling with needles that were out of control and dropped stitches i finally cracked it and ive never looked back since. I also joined Ravelry and have since made alot of new friend who are all very supportive and ever so helpful its an amazing site for knitters, crocheters, weavers and yarn lovers of all kinds and everyone on there has amazing talents and create the most beautiful, some quirky, wild and fantastic patterns and projects its a must

Learning both these crafts has helped me supress  my long battle with depression finally and also given me a new outlook of life.....its amazing what a ball of yarn, a hook or needles and some creative hands can create.  So my advice to anyone who is starting to learn these crafts or any crafts dont give up keep trying and you'll get there and you'll be pleased you did.

I now have an ever growing stash of yarns and patterns and magazines that are overflowing so ive been put on a yarn buying budget that i can use once ive managed to tame down my knitting its hard having to resist all the beautiful yarns but im knitting and crocheting as fast as i can so i can get some more.

Well by now you'll have gathered i mumble on i find it harder to explain things when im on all these tablets ie: Morphene Diasipam Tramadol etc etc so if ever you dont quiet understand what i mean just ask and i'll try my best to explain it better.

Well it's time for me to get back to my knitting as im busy busy busy getting the last few things together ready to publish my first pattern which im hoping will be on here over the next few days.

Thanks for taking the time to read about me and visiting my blog very much appreciated and i hope i didnt bore you.

    Happy knitting/hooking
